Respondents are unsure they will achieve their desired levels of physical, mental and financial well-being.
Respondents in Hong Kong feel the least ready for their ‘financial’ & ‘physical’ well-being in a decade, with 15 points separating their ‘desired’ and ‘expected’ levels of future satisfaction.
People also rate physical well-being as the most crucial attribute, while mental welfare is considered the least important feature. In fact, mental well-being is a vital measure of your overall health, as it can often act as an alarm bell signalling future physical ailments.
Let’s take a closer look at the challenges people face:
Having good physical and mental health can positively impact your financial health. It can help prevent chronic illnesses and reduce the need for costly medical treatments. As a result, you could face lower healthcare expenses and less disruption to your financial goals.
When rating their mental well-being a decade from now, respondents in their 30s have a more negative outlook than younger and older age groups.

Meanwhile, certain physical and mental illnesses concern the younger generation (aged 25-29) more than older age groups. These include diabetes, liver diseases, chronic lower respiratory disease, flu and pneumonia, depression and sleep disorders.
Respondents aged 30-39 tend to worry more about cancer, renal disease, overweight, stress, and anxiety. At the same time, people in their 50s are anxious about heart disease, stroke, loneliness, and cognitive impairment. Quickly addressing these age groups' health needs and concerns is critical to their future well-being.
