Manulife Hong Kong appoints new Chief Operations Officer to drive operational excellence

HONG KONG – Manulife Hong Kong today announced the appointment of Candy Au Yeung as its new Chief Operations Officer. Ms. Au Yeung joins Manulife Hong Kong’s senior management team reporting jointly to Damien Green, Chief Executive Officer of Manulife Hong Kong, and Mark Van Den Broek, Chief Information Officer and Chief Operations Officer of Manulife Asia.

In her role, Ms. Au Yeung is responsible for driving Manulife Hong Kong's operational strategies and leading its core insurance operations such as underwriting, claims, policy administration, office and agency support, high-net-worth operations and customer service functions. She also oversees the Company's efforts to further strengthen its strong service culture, ensuring a relentless pursuit of excellence for both its policyholders and distribution channels. Her other responsibilities include spearheading the Company's operational efficiency through increased adoption of digital tools and continued streamlining of procedures and processes.

Ms. Au Yeung brings over 20 years of solid experience in operations of life and medical insurance companies. As an industry veteran with extensive knowledge of insurance operations, she excels in cultivating change culture and driving future-ready business transformation. Ms. Au Yeung joins Manulife from Prudential Hong Kong Limited, where she most recently headed up the function of customer service, claims, medical network and policy administration. Before Prudential, she had served at a few other multinational insurers overseeing their operations, customer service and relations, as well as relationship management.

This appointment reflects Manulife’s strategic focus on transforming its customer experience by developing more customer-centric services and processes and deploying new digital tools, as well as optimizing support for its growth-focused agency force. Ms. Au Yeung will play a pivotal role in driving the Company's Operations Transformation and Customer Experience agenda.
